Meet the USGs for Content

Hello everyone! We are Tom and India, and we are the Under-Secretary-Generals for Content. As USGs for Content, we are responsible for the conference materials which involves editing Background Guides written by our brilliant Secretariat and OG community, managing the social media accounts as well as lots of other behind the scenes work to ensure each debate is fruitful and engaging. We are especially excited to help to create a conference that highlights the role of diplomacy across time, which calls for a balance between drawing upon historical insight whilst engaging with the most pressing global challenges of the present and even the near future!

Throughout this process we have also had plenty of opportunities to reflect on the importance of Model UN to us. From our first chairing experiences to organising and supporting previous conferences such as NoviceNations26 and our journeys with OG we have both been lucky enough to participate in such exciting and rewarding experiences. Looking forward to the conference, we are very much excited to see how GlobalVoices2026 develops as we work alongside our excellent secretariat to make it one of the best conferences yet! Here’s a bit more about us, we can’t wait to see you all at GlobalVoices!

Tom

Hi! I'm Tom, a Classics finalist at St Hilda's College. I study Roman Republican history and philosophy from the ancient world to the early modern period. I first worked with OG at the Home Conference in 2025 where I co-chaired the UNSC committee on stability in the DRC, and have since supported the logistics team at our NoviceNations event in 2026. Model UN was a totally new experience for me last year, and it's been great to get stuck in at the conferences to support those of you with this opportunity. As a USG for Content, I'll be working alongside India and the rest of the team this year to provide an educational and important tour de force. We'll be highlighting the central role of diplomacy in the conflicts and consensus of the past, the present, and the future.

Before this year's GlobalVoices conference, I'll be heading to Shanghai with an OG group to support an international conference, the best bits of which we'll be implementing for your experience! The pleasure of the international experience of these conferences cannot be overstated - I love travelling to new countries and immersing myself in the local customs and histories, I encourage everyone to delve deeply into the culture and traditions of their respective nations and to try and see what really makes diplomacy tick.

Hello I am India and I am currently in my 2nd year of my Undergraduate in Geography at Jesus College. From my first school MUN conference in 2020 I have really enjoyed and gotten involved in all aspects of the programme and community throughout high school, eventually becoming the Secretary General for my high school conference in 2024.

My OG journey began with chairing at the Home Conference in 2025 which then prompted me to get more involved with the organisation by working as the USG for content for the 2026 NoviceNations conference this February. I thoroughly enjoyed working in this role and getting to help create and edit lots of the materials for the conference. I am now the USG for content at the 2026 GlobalVoices conference and can’t wait to see how this conference will develop under this brilliant secretariat! I am definitely most excited to hear from the speakers over the conference as it is always a highlight of mine to see all the inspiring people working within the international relations sector and other related fields.

Outside of my work for OG I am the Environment and Ethics Representative for my college and am also an avid rower. Ultimately, I can’t wait for some fruitful and fair debate at the conference this year!
