NoviceNations is a conference for delegates of all levels, held each February in the city of Oxford. Focused on improvement and skill acquisition alongside healthy competition, it supports delegates to build confidence, strengthen their committee skills, and take the next step in their MUN journey.

Through supportive committees, interactive workshops, and practical conference activities, delegates develop skills in public speaking, negotiation, teamwork, and resolution-writing. The conference is designed to be accessible, welcoming, and purposeful, while still offering challenge for delegates ready to push themselves further.

Model United Nations is a simulation of the United Nations and other international organisations. It aims to discuss important issues of our world in an organised forum. In MUN, students can learn about contemporary global challenges, practice public speaking, learn about diplomacy and debate a wide array of topics, from scientific development and the challenges of technological advancements to economic policy and gender equality.

NoviceNations 2026 welcomed hundreds of delegates from around the world for a weekend of debate, cultural exchange, and skills development. The programme featured a wide range of committees, including the UNSC, ECOFIN, and CSW, alongside workshops focused on public speaking and advanced MUN skills.

At NoviceNations 2027, you can expect another varied programme of committees and activities designed to challenge and develop you as a delegate. Our 2027 committees are now live!

In our 2026 edition, we ran workshops on public speaking and debating, alongside Rules of Procedure (RoP) training. We’re excited to continue offering enrichment opportunities both before and throughout our conferences. If you’d like access to more supporting resources, explore the OG Shop.

NoviceNations is suitable for delegates at all levels of experience, from advanced delegates looking for a faster-paced challenge to newer delegates building their confidence in committee. Experienced delegates can take part in more demanding debate, refine their skills, and work towards stronger performance and awards. Newer delegates can practise public speaking, understand committee procedure, and become more active participants.

Committees are available at different levels, including advanced, intermediate, and beginner-friendly options, so delegates can choose an environment that supports their development.

OG conferences are for high school students aged 14-18. However, we can accommodate exceptions in special circumstances. Please contact us if you have any questions about this via info@oxfordglobal.org.

You may certainly apply as an individual delegate. Simply create an account on OG Hub and click to apply to the conference; select ‘Delegate’ in registration Step 1 and ‘As an individual’ in Step 2.

We typically have one student per country in most of our committees. Occasionally we run double delegation committees where country positions are represented by a team of two delegates.

More detailed information about NoviceNations committees, including committee topics, will be shared soon.

Participants will be able to make their own committee and country selections when they are accepted to the conference. If you are applying as a faculty advisor on behalf of a delegation, you will be able to make these selections for your delegates.

Please note that positions are only confirmed and reserved upon payment and are therefore subject to change up until your payment has been received.

Position papers should be submitted via OG Hub before the conference. The exact position paper deadline will be communicated with delegates and faculty advisors in advance.

Our Rules of Procedure can be found here. We strongly encourage all delegates to review the OxfordMUN RoP before the conference, regardless of their previous MUN experience, as some procedures may differ from those used at other conferences.

Occasionally we can offer discounts on accommodation in the city of Oxford. However, as a basic principle all delegates, Faculty Advisors, and Assistant Directors are responsible for sourcing their own accommodation.

Occasionally we can offer meal packages for one or more meals, however apart from these all delegates, Faculty Advisors, and Assistant Directors are responsible for sourcing their own meals. Our venues are located in the centre of Oxford with many restaurants and supermarkets nearby, with food options for all price brackets available.

Our Secretariat will also recommend their favourite cafes and restaurants in our Delegate Handbook, which you’ll receive upon arrival at the conference!

We hire University and city venues for our conferences, and many members of our team study at or have studied at Oxford and other leading universities. However, they contribute to OG in a personal and independent capacity.
