Oxford Global and the University of Oxford
Oxford Global is separate from the University of Oxford, and it’s important to know that we, just like many other high school level academic conferences and summer schools that take place in Oxford, have no formal connection with the University (in fact, the University itself does not run any MUN conferences for high school students).
Oxford University does not run its own MUN conferences, and there are no high school level conferences that are associated with the University.
Oxford Global hires University venues for the conferences that we run, including college venues and other historical venues that we use for our Opening and Closing ceremonies. We also use a variety of other facilities in Oxford, including the Town Hall, various museums, and the Catholic Chaplaincy.
For over a decade, we have worked with venue partners across the city, allowing us to host programmes in settings that reflect the city’s distinctive academic character.
All members of the Oxford Global team, including conference staff, directors, volunteers, and speakers, study at or have studied at Oxford and other leading universities. They are involved in Oxford Global in a personal and independent capacity, and bring valuable academic experience, enthusiasm, and insight to the work that we do.
Therefore, Oxford Global is a fully separate organisation based in the city of Oxford and is not formally affiliated with or endorsed by the University, and it’s important to understand that we don’t offer university preparation courses or formal admissions support.
Instead, Oxford Global’s conferences and wider educational activities are developed and delivered independently. Our aim is to offer thoughtful, challenging, and internationally minded experiences that help students grow in confidence, deepen their curiosity, and engage seriously with the world around them.
