We’re Amy, Luca, and Eain, and together we make up the Under-Secretary-General Team for Community Building. Our job focuses on outreach, so includes anything that makes OG more accessible for you guys. We’re responsible for writing and uploading the weekly blog posts, as well as creating resources to be used during our international conferences. We also, along with the rest of the Secretariat, facilitate the running of the Home Conference in November.
May International Updates
Hello Delegates!
A fundamental part of being a representative at the United Nations (and, thus, at a MUN Conference) is an awareness of global events. Given that the theme of the 2025 Home Conference is ‘The Spirit of Inquiry’, we think it is important to stay inquisitive about international news. From May, we will discuss three articles, with related questions to allow you to inquire about what is going on worldwide.

March International Updates
Hello delegates!
A fundamental part of being a representative at the United Nations (and, thus, at a MUN Conference) is an awareness of global events. Given that the theme of this year’s Home Conference is ‘The Spirit of Inquiry’, we think it is important to stay inquisitive about international news. For March, we have three articles discussed below with some links and related questions to allow you to inquire about what is going on worldwide.
Introduction to Model United Nations
Imagine a room packed with passionate students from across the globe, each representing a different nation with unique pasts and priorities, discussing, debating, and drafting together to find solutions to the world’s most pressing issues. This is fundamentally what Model United Nations (or MUN for short) is about.
OG Home Conference 2025: Embracing the ‘Spirit of Inquiry’
What is the Spirit of Inquiry?
At its core, diplomacy isn’t about having all the answers — it’s about asking the right questions. The spirit of inquiry is what drives us to challenge assumptions, seek out diverse perspectives, and engage in meaningful dialogue to find solutions that truly last.
This year, as we gather for OxfordMUN 2025, we invite delegates to step into this mindset — one of curiosity, critical thinking, and open-minded exploration.

Now that the conference is fast approaching, we thought we’d introduce you to your chairpersons! The Main Chair will be your main point of contact and will be leading the Dais - here’s a few details about all of them, so you can get to know them a little bit better before the conference!

Dressing for Diplomacy: Our Guide to MUN Attire
At OG, we take dress code very seriously. It might seem frivolous but how you dress is how you present yourself to the world and to each other, and a smart outfit is a sign of respect towards your peers and towards the conference. Our Chairs and Secretariat will be in their best dress, so we expect you to be too!
