We are super excited to be welcoming you all to Oxford for OxfordMUN 2025 in just a few weeks! Whilst we hope you are all excited too, you may have some queries or concerns, so this blog post is intended to give you some answers. If there is anything you are unsure about that is not addressed in this blog post, have a look through the rest of the OG website, and if that fails, you can email info@oxfordglobal.org. We’re always happy to help! Lots more information about conference logistics will be found within the Delegate Handbook, which you’ll receive at registration.
Where should I be and when?
You can find all the details about exact timings and locations in your delegate handbook, which you’ll be given at registration. The important thing is to be at the Catholic Chaplaincy for registration between 11am and 2pm on Friday, the 28th of November.
What should I wear?
Delegates should wear business-formal attire. This means:
A formal shirt, e.g. button ups and blouses
Smart trousers or skirt (if wearing a skirt, dark tights underneath)
A jacket or blazer
Dress shoes
School uniform is appropriate
You should not wear:
Trainers or other informal shoes
Jumpers or hoodies
Jeans or other informal trousers
Bright colours - jackets, blazers, trousers and skirts should be dark colours like black or navy
What does Spirit of Inquiry mean?
We delve more into that here.
Where can I get food, drinks, and snacks during the conference weekend?
We have secured a number of exclusive deals with Oxford retailers to give you the best deals, including popular spots such as Cafe Creme, Fantastea, Najar’s Place, and Italiamo. More information can be found in the delegate handbook.
What should I see in Oxford whilst I’m here?
The conference itself takes place across some of the coolest buildings in Oxford, with committees in the Examination Schools, the delegate social at the Natural History Museum, and the closing ceremony in the Sheldonian Theatre! Besides these, you’re always surrounded by beautiful architecture in Oxford - the highlights for tourists are the Radcliffe Camera and the Bridge of Sighs.
Will there be OxfordMUN merchandise available to purchase?
Yes, there will be an Oxford Global stall operating in the Exams School. There will be pins as well as carnations, a classic Oxford tradition, for delegates to send to each other.
Who should I ask if I have a RoP-related query?
You can first try checking the RoP document here, but if it’s during the conference, ask your chairs! They are a fantastic, highly trained team of MUN enthusiasts who would be happy to answer and explain any ROP queries you have. You can always ask an ROP question during committee by raising a ‘Point of Parliamentary Inquiry’, but you can also ask your chairs before or after any committee sessions.
Who should I ask if I have a conference-related query?
All the information you’ll need regarding conference details will be in the Delegate Handbook, and available on LinkTree, which will be accessible during the conference weekend.
How do I win best delegate?
You can find the awards policy here.
Why is there a no technology policy?
At OG, we believe everyone has a better MUN experience when we are actively engaging, listening, and discussing together, which is why we have a no technology policy. If you need materials with you during the conference, you can print them out in advance, but please don’t fell a whole forest in the process! Be confident in your skills as a public speaker and just give it a go!
