We’re Amy, Luca, and Eain, and together we make up the Under-Secretary-General Team for Community Building. Our job focuses on outreach, so includes anything that makes Oxford Global more accessible for you guys. We’re responsible for writing and uploading the weekly blog posts, as well as creating resources to be used during our international conferences. We also, along with the rest of the Secretariat, facilitate the running of the OxfordMUN 2025 Home Conference in November.
Amy Bloch
Hi everyone! I’m Amy, a second-year at Balliol College studying History. My first experiences of MUN were in high school, where I greatly enjoyed being a delegate in school conferences. Since coming to Oxford and getting involved with Oxford Global, I have chaired ECOFIN at the Home Conference last November and then COP30 at the NoviceNations Conference this year. These were wonderful weekends, but the highlight of my time with Oxford Global was my trip to Shanghai for the OxfordMUN conference in April, where I got to experience first-hand the international spirit at the heart of MUN. I am now one of the USGs for Community and have enjoyed the blog-post writing and community-building tasks that have come with the role.
Besides all these MUN-related activities, I enjoy running - and am, for better or worse, currently training for the Oxford half marathon in the Autumn - and writing music. I do also love my degree and enjoy (most) of the history reading that I get to do as a result of it.
Luca Moretto
I’m Luca, a second-year studying Ancient and Modern History at Lincoln College. I first got involved with Oxford Global last November, when I chaired the historical crisis committee, before getting to chair the CCPCJ at NoviceNations in February. I was then fortunate enough to be part of the team for OxfordMUN Canada, where I was the backroom director for the fantasy crisis committee. I am now happy to be involved through the community building role.
Outside of MUN, I spend a lot of my time playing sports, as captain of my college football team and as a devoted member of my college rowing club’s men’s second boat. I am also running the Oxford half-marathon in October, but it sounds like I am not as far into training as Amy is. I also love watching films, and have been able to study the international politics of the cinema industry through the modern history part of my degree.
Eain Lin Thu
Hi! I’m Eain, a first year student studying Experimental Psychology at Jesus College. I first got involved with MUN with OxfordGlobal’s Home Conference last November, and have learned so much since then. It has been a great opportunity to learn more about MUN by getting involved in the logistics side of the Home Conference and NoviceNations. I am now happy to be part of the community team as I’ve been able to research more and write in a supportive environment.
In Oxford, I’ve gotten involved in the technical theatre side of drama productions (in which I am a total beginner), and have learned so much about the small details that go on behind the scenes to make a show come together. I’ve also been enjoying my degree and am excited to see what I’ll learn next.
