The first global goal is to eradicate poverty worldwide once the SDGs are due in 2030. While reaching this goal is tied to numerous challenges, the global community has already been successful in drastically reducing poverty in the past decades.
Oxford is a city steeped in history, where present-day students and locals get to enjoy centuries-old traditions. Beyond all the academics, Oxford is full of rituals, ceremonies, and unique customs, so we thought we’d outline some of these below for you to get to know the city hosting you a bit better.

A fundamental part of being a representative at the United Nations (and, thus, at a MUN Conference) is an awareness of global events. Given that the theme of OG’s 2025 Home Conference is ‘The Spirit of Inquiry’, we think it is important to stay inquisitive about international news. From August, we will discuss three articles, with related questions to allow you to inquire about what is going on worldwide.
We’re Natalie and Joana, and we’re the Secretary General and Director General of OG’s 2025 Home Conference! Together, we lead the Secretariat team for this year’s flagship event in November. From big-picture planning to the small but important details, we’re working behind the scenes to make sure our 2025 conference is as smooth, engaging, and memorable as possible. Our goal is to create a weekend that challenges, inspires, and welcomes every delegate who joins us in the city of Oxford.
Hello! Our names are Terry, Victoria, and Rebecca, and we are the USG for Content team for OG. What have we been up to recently? Well… we are hard at work preparing for the fall conference! As the USGs for Content, we are in charge of conference materials, like the Delegate Handbook and the Conference Booklet. Currently, we are in the process of editing the many Background Guides for the conference, written by members of our lovely Secretariat and wonderful OG community. We also selected the committees and topics for the conference.
Hi everyone, we’re Charlotte and Gustė, and together we’re the Under-Secretary-Generals for Delegates. It’s our job to manage and shape the delegate experience at the conference, ensuring that delegates have the best time possible at our 2025 conference. Our responsibilities include sourcing and booking keynote and committee speakers for the conference, assistant director recruitment, and organising ‘Delegate Delights’ (stay tuned!).
