Hello everyone! We are Emma and Agnes, and we are the Under-Secretary-Generals for Community for GlobalVoices 2026. As USGs for Community, our main role is to coordinate with local schools and businesses to foster a sense of togetherness and a smooth on-the-ground experience for all delegates during the conference weekend. This includes liaising with faculty advisers, student organisations and local businesses; look out for some great deals in the upcoming Delegate Handbook!
We’re really excited to also be overseeing a delegate essay competition centred around the conference theme, ‘Diplomacy Past, Present and Future’ over the summer – more information will follow on this soon, so keep an eye out. We’ve really enjoyed thinking about how we can draw out themes across all committees and give delegates a chance to explore our conference theme without being limited to their one committee topic; the essay competition is one of the great ways in which we’re enabling this academic challenge. We’re confident that you will approach this task with the spirit, curiosity and integrity expected of a delegate – we look forward to seeing your solutions!
Agnes
Hi! I’m Agnes, a second-year undergraduate studying Classics at Lady Margaret Hall.
Before beginning my journey with Oxford Global, I was an avid debater at school and enjoyed attending many MUN conferences. I continued this at University, first getting involved with OG as a chair of the UNESCO committee during a conference hosted by Flame University in Pune, India.
I have since chaired other conferences and been on the Secretariat for the NoviceNations conference in Oxford – I’m excited to continue this, as one of the Under-Secretary Generals for Community in the upcoming GlobalVoices conference. I have really enjoyed working on an enriching delegate experience and I look forward to bringing our ideas to life!
Outside of MUN, I love drawing, playing the French horn and cycling.
EMMA
Hi! I’m Emma, a first-year undergraduate studying English at Exeter College.
I’ve been involved in MUN and debate for several years, both as a delegate and through coaching and organizing events, and I’ve always loved the opportunities they create to meet new people and engage with interesting ideas.
I’m excited to continue that through Oxford Global as one of the Under-Secretary Generals for Community at GlobalVoices.
In this role, I’m particularly looking forward to helping delegates connect with one another and making sure everyone gets the most out of both the conference and the wider community around it.
Outside of MUN, some of my favorite things are playing music, taking long walks, and reading/writing poetry.
