The Secretary-General plays a central role in shaping the tone, direction, and academic vision of a Model United Nations conference. From developing the conference theme to supporting the wider Secretariat, the SG helps ensure that delegates are welcomed into a thoughtful, challenging, and engaging environment.
For this year’s GlobalVoices conference, Kokil brings both a deep personal commitment to MUN and a strong understanding of Oxford Global’s approach to student leadership. Alongside her role as Secretary-General, she will also be supporting Oxford Global MUN India 2026 this summer and serving as Team Leader at WEMUN Expo in Beijing, bringing her experience to two of our major international programmes.
In this blog post, Kokil introduces herself, shares what MUN has meant to her, and looks ahead to this year’s theme: Diplomacy: Past, Present and Future.
KOKIL
Hi! I’m Kokil, a second-year Experimental Psychology student at The Queen’s College, and I’ll be serving as your Secretary-General for GlobalVoices 2026. I’ve been attending MUN conferences since year 7, and it has been an important part of my life as it has helped me grow my confidence.
My involvement with Oxford Global began at an international conference hosted by Flame University in Pune, India, where I attended as a chair. Since then, I’ve also chaired the ICJ at Home Conference, and most recently served as USG for Logistics for NoviceNations 2026. I’ve also had previous experience serving as a Secretary-General, so I’m really excited to bring that experience into this year’s conference.
What I’m most looking forward to this year is exploring our theme of Diplomacy: Past, Present, and Future and seeing delegates engage with the topics we’ve chosen and interpret the theme in their unique ways. One of my favourite parts of any conference is watching delegates grow in confidence from the first session to the last, and I feel very lucky to be part of that journey this year
Outside of MUN, I’m a big lover of the arts, I enjoy dancing, watching theatre, and playing board games with friends.
Kokil’s introduction brings our 2026 Secretariat blog series to a close. Through this series, we have introduced the team who will be shaping this year’s conference across content, logistics, delegate experience, and overall leadership.
Together, the 2026 Secretariat brings a wide range of experience, ideas, and perspectives to the conference. We are excited to see how their work will come together over the months ahead as we prepare for a thoughtful, ambitious, and welcoming edition of OxfordMUN GlobalVoices.
