We’re Natalie and Joana, and we’re the Secretary General and Director General of OG’s 2025 Home Conference! Together, we lead the Secretariat team for this year’s flagship event in November. From big-picture planning to the small but important details, we’re working behind the scenes to make sure our 2025 conference is as smooth, engaging, and memorable as possible. Our goal is to create a weekend that challenges, inspires, and welcomes every delegate who joins us in the city of Oxford.
Natalie Jones
Hi delegates and faculty advisors! I’m Natalie, the Secretary General of our 2025 Home Conference. I first got involved with MUN over a decade ago and was part of OG’s very first Home Conference back in 2016 - so it’s incredibly meaningful to now be leading our tenth anniversary edition. I couldn’t be prouder to have been part of OG’s journey over the past decade.
Since then, I’ve helped run more than 25 conferences across the UK, Asia, and North America, including leading our NoviceNations conference earlier this year and our inaugural North American event in Canada in April. I studied English at New College, Oxford, before completing a Master’s in Development Management at LSE. After that, I taught in a secondary school through Teach First and led apprenticeship programmes at a global EdTech company. These days, I focus on designing learning experiences for students around the world, supporting UK university applicants - and, of course, helping make the Home Conference an unforgettable weekend.
When I’m not working or running conferences, you’ll usually find me running in the literal sense: I’ve completed several marathons, an ultramarathon, and even climbed Kilimanjaro last year.
I can’t wait to welcome you to Oxford this November - here’s to ten years of our flagship event!
Joana Perrone
Hi everyone! I’m Joana, and I’m delighted to be serving as the Director General of this year’s Home Conference. I’ve been involved in MUN for over 18 years and have participated in, chaired, or organised more than 50 conferences. It’s an absolute pleasure to be part of the team for the tenth anniversary edition, and to see MUN continue to inspire a new generation of delegates.
I studied International Relations at the University of Sussex before completing my Master’s and DPhil at Wadham College, Oxford, where my research focused on gender violence in Brazil. Alongside my studies, I taught undergraduates and graduates across a range of subjects. These days, my main focus is supporting the sustainability of our events and projects, and ensuring that delegates have the best possible experience. With so much planned for this year’s Home Conference, I’m very excited to be part of this secretariat!
When I’m not working, you can find me reading, writing or gardening – I’m currently trying to grow tomatoes, though I’m not sure how successful it will be!
I can’t wait to welcome you to the conference and to celebrate ten years of our flagship event together.
