We’re Natalie and Joana, and we’re the Secretary General and Director General of OG’s 2025 Home Conference! Together, we lead the Secretariat team for this year’s flagship event in November. From big-picture planning to the small but important details, we’re working behind the scenes to make sure our 2025 conference is as smooth, engaging, and memorable as possible. Our goal is to create a weekend that challenges, inspires, and welcomes every delegate who joins us in the city of Oxford.

Hello! Our names are Terry, Victoria, and Rebecca, and we are the USG for Content team for OG. What have we been up to recently? Well… we are hard at work preparing for the fall conference! As the USGs for Content, we are in charge of conference materials, like the Delegate Handbook and the Conference Booklet. Currently, we are in the process of editing the many Background Guides for the conference, written by members of our lovely Secretariat and wonderful OG community. We also selected the committees and topics for the conference.

Hi everyone, we’re Charlotte and Gustė, and together we’re the Under-Secretary-Generals for Delegates. It’s our job to manage and shape the delegate experience at the conference, ensuring that delegates have the best time possible at our 2025 conference. Our responsibilities include sourcing and booking keynote and committee speakers for the conference, assistant director recruitment, and organising ‘Delegate Delights’ (stay tuned!). Here is a bit more about us!

A fundamental part of being a representative at the United Nations (and, thus, at a MUN Conference) is an awareness of global events. Given that the theme of our 2025 Home Conference is ‘The Spirit of Inquiry’, we think it is important to stay inquisitive about international news. From June, we will discuss three articles, with related questions to allow you to inquire about what is going on worldwide.

The Rules of Procedure: What are They?

So now you’ve done all of your research and you are ready to debate. You show up to the conference, sit through the opening ceremony in anticipation, and race to your committee room. You take a seat at the table with your placard on it. Now what? Since it’s the first time you are meeting the chair and your fellow delegates, the chair will probably get you to all introduce yourselves, maybe play some icebreaker games. The chair will then explain the rules of procedures again, just in case anyone is confused or wants clarifications. Then, the debate begins.

The last global goal is to promote cooperation among nations in order to reach all the goals set out by the global community. While reaching all the other goals includes overcoming numerous challenges, achieving goal 17 does not only mean that the other targets need to be fulfilled, but also that all nations cooperate closely to advance progress on an international level.

The sixteenth global goal is to promote peaceful and just societies. While reaching this goal includes overcoming numerous challenges, the global community can still achieve its goal set out until 2030. This involves promoting the rule of law and human rights as well as reducing violence and all crimes relating to it.

SDG 15: Life on Land

The fifteenth global goal is to protect life on land and ensure biodiversity and conservation. While reaching this goal includes overcoming numerous challenges, the global community can still achieve its goal set out until 2030. This involves drastically increasing measure taken to protect biodiversity and focusing more on implementing the ideas set out in international agreements.

The fourteenth global goal is to protect marine life and increase ocean sustainability. While reaching this goal includes overcoming numerous challenges, the global community can still achieve its goal set out until 2030. This involves drastically decreasing water pollution and setting active measures to achieve a more sustainable world.

The thirteenth global goal is to set specific steps in order to make our society more sustainable and through that protect our environment. While reaching this goal includes overcoming numerous challenges, the global community can still achieve its goal set out until 2030. This involves drastically decreasing pollution and setting active measures to achieve a more sustainable world.

SDG 12: Responsible Consumption and Production

The twelfth global goal is to make production and consumption more sustainable and reduce the amount of material used and waste produced. While reaching this goal includes overcoming numerous challenges, the global community can still achieve its goal set out until 2030. This involves increasing recycling and reuse and paying more mind to the materials and products we use every day.

SDG 11: Sustainable Cities and Communities

The eleventh global goal is to make cities sustainable and safe and encourage responsible urbanization. While reaching this goal includes overcoming numerous challenges, the global community can still achieve its goal set out until 2030. Reducing the environmental impact of cities and making urban habit more accessible and enjoyable will prepare our cities for the future.

SDG 10: Reduced Inequalities

The tenth global goal is to reduce inequalities within and among countries. While reaching this goal includes overcoming numerous challenges, the global community is on a good path to reduce economic inequalities and allow higher incomes for the lowest income classes of society. There is still hope that SDG 10 will be realised until the SDGs are due in 2030 and that by then, our world will be significantly more equal.

There is still hope that SDG 9 will be realized until the SDGs are due in 2030
