Welcome to OxfordMUN: GlobalVoices 2026

OxfordMUN: GlobalVoices is the largest high school MUN conference in the UK, bringing students together students to debate world issues in historic Oxford venues. From the moment you arrive, you’ll be part of a high-energy weekend of debate, diplomacy and new connections. In 2025, we welcomed 850 students from over 25 countries, creating the truly international conversation that MUN is meant to be.

If you want to become a more confident speaker, get quicker at thinking on your feet, and understand how international decisions are actually made, Model United Nations is a great place to start! MUN is a United Nations simulation where you represent a country, debate global challenges, negotiate with other delegates, and work towards resolutions. You’ll spend a weekend in serious, lively discussion with motivated peers, meet new people who share your desire to be changemakers, and come away with sharper communication skills and a stronger grasp of global politics.

With GlobalVoices 2026 applications now open, it is a great time to get involved, whether it is your first conference or you are ready for a bigger challenge…

What do you gain from MUN?

1. Confidence speaking in high-pressure settings

Public speaking gets easier with practice, especially with the structure and support at GlobalVoices. MUN helps you practise delivering clear, persuasive points, responding to challenges, and speaking in a formal setting.

2. Stronger thinking and argument skills

MUN teaches you to break down a problem, build a clear argument, and adjust when the debate shifts. You get better at spotting weak points, asking deeper questions, and defending your ideas under pressure.

3. An understanding of global issues

Through your preparation for the conference and during debate itself, you’ll learn not only what an issue is, but why it is difficult to solve. Representing a country forces you to weigh competing priorities, limited resources, and political constraints. That perspective often changes how you engage with current affairs, write essays, and talk about international issues.

4. Teamwork, leadership, and negotiation

The best diplomats don’t work alone! MUN develops your ability to work a room, build alliances, find compromise, and lead when needed. You’ll practise negotiation, collaboration, and strategy in a way that has real outcomes in committee, because the direction of debate and the final resolution depend on what you and your bloc do next.

5. A global community

The weekend moves quickly and you meet people fast. You’re debating, drafting, negotiating, and celebrating achievements together, building friendships for life. For many delegates, the MUN community becomes the reason they keep coming back!
